Meet Amelia

Born and raised in Louisiana, I have always had a passion for art.  A small venture into watercolor quickly grew into a passion for me.  What was once a hobby has grown into a side career and I am so grateful to be doing what I love every day.  When I'm not holding a paint brush, my time is consumed by being a wife and mom. Of all of the hats that I wear in life, those two are my favorites.  Commission work keeps me busy and consists of custom portraits including people, houses, pets and more.  My style is somewhat contemporary while still maintaining a timeless and classic feel.  I love keeping movement in my portraits by integrating ink and watercolor paint and by not always painting inside of the lines.  Muted colors, tones and blurred images to create depth and dimension in my paintings are all a part of what makes my art style unique.  I try to capture the tiniest of details in my paintings, especially on people, so that even in faceless portraits, the people in the picture are recognized.  Most of my portraits require sketching prior to painting.  Art has been a journey and one that I have grown to love more and more every day.  I am excited to be offering live event painting now.  Click the tab above to learn more.
